The only maths school outside the state system
Every other specialist maths school is a state-funded 16–19 free school, drawing ESFA/DfE per-student funding. The 1729 Maths School is the sole exception: no GAG, no ESFA grant, no Companies House filing of its own. Instead it runs as a project inside a much larger independent-school charity, underwritten by a single family's stated £30 million commitment over ten years.
